Poppers are a great tool to use when you are making target casts to specific pieces of structure. A shorter rod like a 6'6" - 7' will help with your accuracy. When choosing an action for the rod, look for something that won't overpower the bait - a medium action is the sweet spot for Brad. When it comes to reels it's all about efficiency, either reeling up slack line after a bite or bring the bait in to make your next cast. Line choices can vary depending on your scenario but sticking with Braid or Mono will help increase action because of its floating capabilities.
