Popper Setup (Rod/Reel/Line) - Bob Downey

Fri, July 15, 2022

A topwater popper is one of the most exciting and effective ways to target bass around the spawn and post-spawn. Bassmaster Elite, Bob Downey, is here to go over his setup when fishing the Storm Arashi Cover Pop. Bob's rod is a 6'10" Medium power, Extra-Fast action where the shorter length allows him to be more accurate with his casts around cover and other shallow targets. For line, Bob uses Sufix 832 braid to a 14lb Sufix monofilament leader, paired with a 7.1:1 Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 casting reel.
