It happens every year. The fall comes around and all the bass get super focused on the smallest of shad in the lake. The bass are busting the surface while chasing those shad all around you. We throw every topwater lure in our tackle box, but we can’t manage to get bit. Maybe we tried swimbaits, an underspin, or even an umbrella rig, but still can’t manage to get bit.
Times like these are perfect for a unique set up I came up with using a Strike King KVD Dream Shot. I know at first you’re probably thinking a drop shot isn’t going to catch these fish, and you’re right, but rigging this bait like I show in the video, and fishing it like a soft plastic jerkbait is what makes all the magic happen!
