For the most part he starts off with braid because it is extremely durable in situations where cover like grass and pads are present, making it easier for him to rip the jig through it. He feels like a 50-60 lb. test is the perfect range for fishing a swim jig with braided line. On the flip side, he chooses to go with fluoro in clear water situations when a more finesse presentation is needed.
